Manifesto

The subscribers of this document undertake to safeguard it and pass it on to future generations.

Whenever new storage media or formats appear, or changes affect the language, the document must be updated and migrated to the current medium in order to guarantee its preservation and prevent its loss.

The original document must remain unaltered. To incorporate any modification or improvement, a copy of it shall be made, and any interventions shall be carried out exclusively on that copy. From that point on, both the original document and the derived versions must be kept and delivered together.

The name of the document is “Meditaciones a Contratiempo 2019 0” followed by a period and the file format extension. Later versions will replace the final digit (zero) with the corresponding number.

The subscribers of this manifesto may propose improvements for its versioning, provided they respect the following points:

1. The core content must address research into the continuity of human life beyond the final moment.
2. Analyze the validity of the eternalist conception of time, and, should it be confirmed, study the possibility of traveling to moments in the past for the sole purpose of fulfilling point 1.
3. If point 2 is resolved, proceed to rescue the people included in the list that each person in charge has recorded in their Circle (see the second-to-last point).
4. Although the document is freely accessible, its final recipient will be whoever possesses the knowledge and technical means necessary to carry out all of the above points.

If at any time humanity reaches a degree of development that brings it close to immortality, the subscribers of this manifesto shall likewise commit to fulfilling this task, even in the face of possible legal restrictions.

A list of people to be recovered, organized by families in a family-tree structure, will be created. Each list will be called a “Circle” and will have a person in charge.

One or more successors will also be designated to give continuity to the initiative when the person in charge passes away.

The person in charge of a Circle may create another one and assign it a new person in charge, who in turn must name at least one candidate to succeed them when the time comes.

The information for each Circle will be stored privately in a file with the .fam extension generated on the website https://occasio.es. Only the person in charge will be able to access the data; not even the organization will have access, so they must take special care not to lose the information.

All members of this Initiative must watch over the preservation of all other Circles, both from their own era and from previous eras.
